Madeira High School, known for its strong academic and athletic programs, recently undertook a much-needed renovation of its locker room facilities. After 25 years of continuous use, the existing spaces were outdated and no longer met the needs of the school’s growing athletic programs. To modernize the facilities and provide a durable, high-performance flooring solution, Tarkett Triumph Rubber flooring was selected for installation. Tarkett’s Imaginations department created flawless laser-cut logos that were placed in the center of each locker room.

In addition to 4,300sf of Tarkett Triumph rubber floor tile installed with Tarkett’s C-EX Pressure Sensitive Adhesive, Daltile Color Wheel subway tile was installed on all sink walls. Also, Ardex floor preparation materials were used throughout to provide an acceptable substrate for rubber tile installation.

This project presented several challenges, including extremely limited on-site storage and the necessity of working exclusively at night to avoid disrupting other trades. Additionally, a delayed start meant that the installation had to be completed as efficiently as possible to ensure that the fall sports teams could begin their seasons on schedule.

Despite these obstacles, the installation team worked diligently to meet the tight timeline, coordinating deliveries carefully and maximizing productivity during overnight shifts. Thanks to careful planning and execution, the new flooring was installed successfully, providing Madeira High School athletes with a safe, high-quality surface designed to withstand years of heavy use.
