This was a summer school job that we won a sealed bid on. The job included replacing the flooring in the Middle School, High School, Cafeteria, Media Center and fine arts buildings. We had to do this in 45 days including replace flooring in 2 other schools at the same time.
Interface carpet went in the classrooms and media center with a unique pattern for the carpet specified. We went over the existing VCT with the carpet.
Texas Granite went in the hallways, science rooms and cafeteria. We had to self level with Maxxon Level EZ before laying down the Texas Granite. We had to demo all the existing VCT before any install or leveling could be done.
The Texas Granite was designed to be installed on a 45 degree angle in the hallways with 3 different colors. We had the field color, the school color and the gray accent color.
We were also tasked with replacing the stair treads in the Middle School and High School. 4 stair cases of 26 stairs each and a landing.
The last part of the project was installing 2 logos (1 in the middle school, and 1 in the high school). The logos were water jet cut Texas Granite.
The total job was 101,500 SF to be completed in 45 days.
