Val Vista Water Treatment Plant Project Overview

The Val Vista Water Treatment Plant project presented a unique challenge as it involved working in a laboratory environment filled with sensitive and fragile equipment. Continental Flooring Company’s skilled installers worked closely with the customer to minimize disruptions by coordinating a phased approach. This involved evacuating and rotating work between rooms, allowing the customer to maintain operations while new flooring was installed.

Given the chemical content in certain lab areas, a specialized water-resistant adhesive was employed to ensure durability and performance. This adhesive required precision due to its time-sensitive nature. The project scope included the installation of over 8,600 square feet of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and 70 yards of carpet tile, along with the application of linear feet of cove base, rubber tile, and stair treads.

A team of four installers completed the project in just 10 days—two days ahead of schedule. The efficiency and high-quality workmanship exceeded the customer’s expectations, and the project was successfully delivered before the deadline.

The floor preparation for this project required a phased approach to accommodate the customer’s need to maintain operations. As the facility remained occupied, strict measures were taken to minimize dust and debris, ensuring minimal disruption to the staff’s workflow.

The layout and installation of the luxury vinyl tile (LVT) presented unique challenges due to the presence of fragile equipment and numerous workstations within the laboratory rooms. Precise cuts and a thoughtful aesthetic approach were essential to meet the project’s high standards. The installation of cove base demanded continuity and efficiency, even as interruptions occurred due to the staff’s need to access certain equipment during the process. Delicate machinery was carefully relocated to secure areas with minimal exposure, requiring meticulous handling by the team.
