This 20,000-SF renovation for Holland Home Breton Terrace included the common areas on all three levels to include a new café and gathering space, upgraded chapel, upgraded theatre, and an upgraded feature stair that extends between all three floors. The kitchen was extended to double in size and was fully renovated to provide all new equipment and food service space. Resident corridors were updated with new finishes on all three floors. Private dining was also fully renovated as well to provide a new, refreshed space. Dal-Tile was used for the kitchen space and Tarkett was used throughout primarily. This property in particular has a history of moisture problems, so Mapei’s Moisture Barrier was used throughout.

With 40+ years’ experience working with luminaries in the architecture world, including Michael Graves, Robert A.M. Stern, and Rockwell Group, where she served as a studio leader, Thiel’s extensive portfolio includes single-family homes and multi-story residences, hotels, restaurants, retail, fitness clubs, offices, theaters, schools and shopping centers. She is a member of the AIA, holds NCARB certification and is a LEED accredited professional. Prior to her career in architecture, Thiel was a dancer and choreographer.
