Maserati hired Simeone Floors to install the ceramic tile for their debut of its first North American retail store concept at Boch Maserati in Norwood, MA, near Boston.
It is the first of its kind in North America, the only other locations like this are in Milan, Italy and London, UK.
It includes over 7,450 sf of ceramic tile, and the design was based on a luxury fashion retailer, restaurant, or private club, filled with rich Italian design and signature Maserati hospitality.
After many delays in sourcing materials direct from Italy, we were forced to work with an extremely condensed schedule in order to hit the grand opening date. We installed all of the tile throughout the entire showroom, bathroom and offices in two weeks.
Given the large format tile and significance of perfection of this showroom, we did not sacrifice any of our quality in exchange for speed, and brought in extra bodies to help us complete the task on time.
In the end, we hit our deadline, and the owner was thrilled with how the project turned out. They unveiled the new concept store in late November.

With 40+ years’ experience working with luminaries in the architecture world, including Michael Graves, Robert A.M. Stern, and Rockwell Group, where she served as a studio leader, Thiel’s extensive portfolio includes single-family homes and multi-story residences, hotels, restaurants, retail, fitness clubs, offices, theaters, schools and shopping centers. She is a member of the AIA, holds NCARB certification and is a LEED accredited professional. Prior to her career in architecture, Thiel was a dancer and choreographer.
Thiel Architecture + Design is an award-winning multi-disciplinary architecture, interior design, planning, and product design firm with offices in CT and NY. The firm’s work focuses on high-end residential design as well as hospitality, contract, and retail projects. Thiel Architecture + Design’s work has been featured in Interior Design, Architype, New York and Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, Connecticut Magazine, Archello, and Fast Company magazines. In 2022, the firm received a Connecticut AIA Excellence award for Interior Architecture. Thiel earned a BA from Penn State University and her Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University.
