The Myers Park Presbyterian project seamlessly blended aesthetics, functionality, and craftsmanship to create an inspiring and engaging environment. A standout feature was the creative use of Marmoleum, incorporating circles and ovals to break the rigidity of standard spaces. Bold, vibrant colors energized the classroom, in contrast with clean, cool tones that provided a calm and structed environment. Overall, transforming the flooring into an interactive, mood-enhancing element.
Garmon and Company played a pivotal role in executing this vision with precision and expertise. Starting as the substrate, all floor prep was achieved using Uzin floor patch. Understanding the material compatibility ensured seamless transitions between Marmoleum, Shaw LVT, and carpet tile, enhancing both durability and aesthetic appeal. Complementing the Marmoleum, the installation of Shaw Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) was strategically chosen to bring a subtle hint of stone terrazzo into the space, seamlessly integrating with the church’s classic and contemporary design elements. The Shaw carpet tile was also creatively selected not just for comfort and durability but for its ability to create a warm, inviting ambiance throughout the corridors and learning spaces. To achieve a cohesive and polished look, Johnsonite rubber base and quarter round were expertly installed to mimic wood, adding a sophisticated yet practical finishing touch. The meticulous installation of Johnsonite rubber base and quarter round further refined the project, mimicking wood for a sophisticated yet durable finish.
Every aspect of the flooring was curated with an artistic vision in mind, balancing durability with striking design elements. By integrating bold patterns, fluid shapes, and an engaging color palette, this project goes beyond flooring— it becomes a design statement that enhances the church’s mission of fostering community, creativity, and connection. With its imaginative layout, expert craftsmanship, and innovative material applications, this project exemplifies creative flooring design.
