This 160,000-square-foot VCT flooring installation demonstrates precision, expertise, and innovation in overcoming significant substrate challenges. Nearly every square foot of the substrate was out of tolerance, with height variations ranging from 1/4″ to 1″. Such conditions demanded meticulous planning, in-depth problem-solving, and highly skilled execution to achieve a smooth, level, and durable surface.
Our team began with a comprehensive assessment of the substrate, identifying problem areas and implementing tailored solutions to address the unique challenges of each zone. To achieve a flawless foundation, we utilized 5,670 bags of Schonox self-leveling compound to meticulously level the surface, ensuring a stable and uniform base for the VCT tiles. This careful preparation not only resolved the extreme substrate irregularities but also optimized the performance and longevity of the finished flooring.
The result is a seamless, aesthetically consistent VCT installation across the entire school, even in areas with the most significant substrate variations. This project highlights the value of expert craftsmanship, innovative solutions, and a commitment to quality in delivering a high-performance flooring solution for a demanding large-scale application.
