Garmon and Company is proud to submit the Spectrum Arena Renovation in the category for Most Aggressive Project Timeline/Schedule. We partnered with FUSE Alliance members Daltile, Mapei, and Laticrete to complete this high-profile project.
The project presented an extraordinary challenge in time and project management. Our team was responsible for the complete ceramic tile scope, which spanned from floors, walls, and accent features throughout the facility, totaling over 35,000 square feet. With the arena’s tight event schedule, complex location logistics, and its status as one of Charlotte’s most visited and well-branded venues, reopening on time was critical. Trades were given extremely limited windows to complete their scopes, requiring our team to condense the installation schedule for the entire scope to just two months.
To meet these aggressive deadlines, we implemented strategic planning and intensive coordination. Additional crews were mobilized, and field supervisors provided continuous oversight, ensuring daily tasks stayed on track. Our team maintained proactive communication with all trades, anticipating conflicts and adjusting schedules to keep the installation sequence flowing efficiently.
The technical demands of installing both floor and wall tile across multiple finishes, while coordinating different Mapei and Laticrete systems paired with varying tile combinations, added complexity. Through meticulous planning, precise execution, and disciplined workflow management, our team delivered a high-quality installation on schedule, allowing Spectrum Arena to reopen for events seamlessly.
This project demonstrates our team’s ability to overcome aggressive scheduling challenges on large-scale, high-profile commercial projects, highlighting leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional project management under pressure. Our success was further strengthened by collaboration with FUSE Alliance partners Daltile, Mapei, and Laticrete, whose support and products were integral to achieving this aggressive schedule and high-quality installation.
