At the heart of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the Queen Casino stands as an iconic beacon of entertainment and style. Our team at Anytime Flooring was privileged to undertake the complete renovation and addition of this landmark, weaving contemporary elegance into its storied heritage.
The scope of our project at the Queen Casino was extensive, involving a full spectrum of interior and exterior enhancements. We approached each aspect of the renovation with a commitment to excellence and a keen eye for detail. For the carpeting, we selected luxurious, durable materials that complemented the vibrant energy and sophistication of the casino’s gaming areas. Each design choice reflected the lively ambiance of the casino.
We also tackled the building’s façade, installing meticulously crafted large format tiles that created a visually striking entrance. This exterior transformation was matched by the interior elegance we brought to the walls, including large porcelain panels that were book-matched to add finesse.
In areas where both durability and aesthetic appeal were crucial, we installed high-quality Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). This practical yet stylish choice balanced the functional needs of a busy casino with the desire for a polished look. The 1717 Area Bar and Lounge received special attention with our brick veneer work, creating a rustic yet chic atmosphere perfect for relaxation and socializing. Additionally, each food outlet inside the Queen Casino was given a unique treatment, with wall-work that contributed to their distinct thematic experiences.
Nancy Thiel, founder and principal of Thiel Architecture + Design, is a licensed architect and an interior designer. With 40+ years’ experience working with luminaries in the architecture world, including Michael Graves, Robert A.M. Stern, and Rockwell Group, where she served as a studio leader, Thiel’s extensive portfolio includes single-family homes and multi-story residences, hotels, restaurants, retail, fitness clubs, offices, theaters, schools and shopping centers. She is a member of the AIA, holds NCARB certification and is a LEED accredited professional. Prior to her career in architecture, Thiel was a dancer and choreographer.
Thiel Architecture + Design is an award-winning multi-disciplinary architecture, interior design, planning, and product design firm with offices in CT and NY. The firm’s work focuses on high-end residential design as well as hospitality, contract, and retail projects. Thiel Architecture + Design’s work has been featured in Interior Design, Architype, New York and Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, Connecticut Magazine, Archello, and Fast Company magazines. In 2022, the firm received a Connecticut AIA Excellence award for Interior Architecture. Thiel earned a BA from Penn State University and her Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University.
