Barack and Michelle Obama Teen Empowerment Center

Our team had the honor of contributing to the creation of a new Teen Empowerment Center designed to identify and address critical issues affecting an underserved community. The goal was to design a space that would inspire, uplift, and empower young people while providing a durable and functional environment for their activities. Through a creative and thoughtful approach to flooring, we utilized Tarkett Carpet Tile, Roppe wall base, and Bostik floor leveling products to bring this vision to life. The included Tarkett Carpet Tile which was chosen for its versatility, vibrant color options, and ability to create dynamic patterns. We incorporated bold, geometric designs and color-blocking techniques to energize the space and reflect the center’s mission of empowerment and positivity. The carpet tiles also provided acoustic benefits, reducing noise levels in high-activity areas and creating a more comfortable environment for collaboration and learning. To address uneven subfloors, we used Bostik floor leveling products, ensuring a smooth and stable surface for the carpet tile installation. This step was critical to achieving a polished, professional finish that would meet the demands of a busy teen center. Roppe wall base was installed to provide a clean, durable transition between the flooring and walls. Its robust construction and ease of maintenance made it an ideal choice for a high-traffic space, while its sleek design complemented the modern aesthetic of the center. The result is a vibrant, welcoming space that inspires creativity, collaboration, and empowerment. This project demonstrates how thoughtful flooring design can transform a functional space into a source of pride and inspiration for an underserved community. By combining creativity, durability, and practicality, we created a Teen Empowerment Center that truly makes a difference.
