Working with design build partners Taylor Design and McCarthy Bldg Companies, Signature Flooring recently completed new construction installation for a new medical office building located in Ventura, Calif. for one of the country’s leading healthcare providers.

The structure, designed to be a modern, open “Market Street” facility, showcases high stylized finishes along with local and regional healthy reminders and images. Instead of a fixed welcome desk, member specialists will roam and greet members to assist with check in and held answer questions. Achieving a LEED Gold and Net Zero certification, the facility features environmentally sustainable elements. To showcase the regions agricultural and beach communities, the MOB wayfinding showcases images of lemons, avocados and strawberries so prevalent in Ventura County.

Speaking to the flooring specifically, Signature utilized Fuse partner Armstrong’s Rhythmics Linoleum sheet goods primarily throughout facility with contrasting and challenging installation angles. At surgical or soiled areas, Shannon Specialty Floors’ PVC-Free “Barenaked” sheet goods were utilized to meet the provider’s needs.

At waiting regions, conference rooms and offices, Signature specified a Tandus Powerbond Ethos Hybrid Resilient Carpet in a custom color of its running line “DV8” style. Spanning the color spectrum, the material embodies the building’s unique geometry and imagery.

Complementing the Armstrong resilient and Tandus carpet is Johnsonite’s Mandalay Millwork Base and Traditional Rubber base coupled with the resilient specialist’s integrated one –piece stair tread and risers. Signature capitalized on Johnsonite’s broad spectrum of materials and colors to tie the millwork, rubber base, slimline transitions and stair treads all together.

Outside of a provider-specific anti-fatigue matting in the pharmacy, all the resilient and carpet floor covering in the Ventura Medical Office Building are Fuse Alliance associated manufacturers. This is true right down to the concrete as Ardex America’s floor preparation and moisture control system was used and trusted with great confidence by Signature and McCarthy. Featuring the MC Rapid product, Signature’s installers shot blasted the concrete, applied the seal followed by priming and skim coating with Ardex Feather Finish and even some Ardex K15 self-level underlayment at low areas.

Opened in December of 2017, this new healthcare and medical facility is a welcome addition to the local Ventura community and will stand to help and service patients inside a high aesthetic design.
