Liberty Southpark

The Barclay at Southpark (i.e. Liberty Southpark) is Charlotte’s newest retirement community, providing residents high-end amenities, elegant living spaces, delectable dining options and so much more. The Southpark district is a favored area for folks who enjoy the ease of gracious living -- so, it was easy when selecting flooring that matches this characteristic, while keeping the functionality and performance in mind of an independent living facility. To aide in the modern, practical, yet sophisticated design of the space, the following products were chosen to be installed (to call out a few: KAHRS ENGINEERED 5” WOOD Resident units and common areas were installed with the Kahrs Spirit Unity Collection white-oak 5” engineered wood, that provided a familiar comfort-of-home aesthetic, while not forfeiting performance or quality. The product has a top-notch wear-layer to withstand the day-to-day traffic and offers an ease of installation with the floated method. When paired with the Kahrs Quiet Stride Underlayment to reduce noise, residents are sure to get the rest and peace they need in their home-live environment. SHAW CUSTOM BROADLOOM In the common areas, the Kahrs engineered wood is paired beautifully with the Shaw custom broadloom carpet. Broadloom designs add the statement-making style needed to bring this space to life and provides more cushion under foot than a normal commercial carpet tile to protect against joint pain. Additionally, broadloom is preferred in an assisted living facility, as its advantage is keeping spills above the subfloor due to the welded seams, making for an easy clean up! ECORE FOREST RX VINYL FLOORING We installed this heterogenous vinyl flooring in the on-site fitness facility. It’s an easy fit to our continuing product mold, as it has a 5mm base layer made of vulcanized composition rubber that adds another aspect of comfort to the tenants during wellness gatherings. Not to mention, the wood-look design is sharp and home-y! JOHNSONITE MILLWORK BASE The appearance of finely milled wood is the cherry on top of this architectural design! As a step above the normal commercial rubber base, this product provides the detail needed (and expected) to tie the whole design together. Further, it adds the low maintenance and durable functionality needed to keep this space looking fresh.
