Project Overview:
This project involved flooring installation across multiple buildings in a large apartment complex. After completing two buildings, we discovered a material failure with the specified product (dimensional instability) that jeopardized the flooring’s performance and integrity.
Challenge Faced:
We immediately sent the flooring for testing, which confirmed that the material was unsuitable for the project. This required switching to a different product, causing a three-week delay.
Solution Implemented:
We worked closely with the general contractor and client to quickly identify and implement a proven, reliable alternative. Despite the delay, we adjusted schedules, mobilized our labor force, and kept the project on track.
Outcome:
• Quick Decision-Making: Testing confirmed the material issue, allowing us to switch to a trusted product without further complications.
• Adaptability: We overcame the three-week delay by adjusting our team’s schedule and resources to meet the revised timeline.
• Collaboration: Open communication with the client and GC ensured a smooth transition and kept everyone informed.
• Successful Completion: The project was completed on time with the new flooring, meeting quality and durability standards.
Conclusion:
This project highlights our ability to quickly resolve unexpected issues, adapt under pressure, and deliver a successful result, making it a strong candidate for the Toughest Site Conditions Award.
