Working along side multiple trades during this renovation of a 100 year old historic landmark building was a challenge in so many ways. Other disciplines present during the flooring demo and install included electrical, audio visual, plumbing, acoustical, plaster repair, etc. Multiple levels of stairs and risers, as well as cutting to other existing materials were also involved in this job.
Every step and riser in the balcony had to be cut on-site to fit, labeled, taken out to be serged and returned to the job site for installation. There were over 1300 lineal feet of serging alone on this job. Also, with a large patterned broadloom, and curved stairs, it was a challenge to keep the pattern aligned and flowing on not-so-perfect substrates. Parts of the install were "double stick" - carpet and pad, and other areas were install of broadloom with felt cushion backing. All in all we powered through all the challenges and are very proud of the freshly renovated building.
