The Allen ISD STEAM Center is a new ground-up facility that has attracted much attention in the Metroplex. We selected the "best-branded environment" category even though this is not branded like an athletic facility. Allen STEAM is a truly innovative learning environment where students can write on the walls, walk in the woods, use the innovation hub, the ellipse theater, view the facility digital dashboard, a fossil wall or use the Omni globe. The District has positioned this facility as the way forward for its STEAM education direction. Over 400 District students travel to this campus daily, and Allen now has for the 2019/2020 school year, a unique education facility supported by very innovative facility design. From the District website: "The two-story arc-shaped building was designed with separate high school STEAM and elementary/middle school experience designated entrances to provide a foundational system promoting curiosity, cultivating future-ready skills, and preparing Allen ISD students for success in STEAM-related areas." This project occurred in 2018 and 2019 and is in service for the District now. Our scope elements for this job included Carpet, Sheet Linoleum, Floor and Wall Tile, Wall base, and Stair Parts. A challenging project including a combined floor area for carpet, resilient, and tile of just over 83k SF and Wall Tile of over 23k SF. One Source is honored to have been a part of this great project!
